The sahih hadith Muslim is just one of the six collections of the hadith collections of the six major collections of the hadith collected by Imam Muslim. Though this is only the second most famous hadith collections, this is also considered to be the most authentic one. The Shia Muslims have disputed over the authenticity of the shahih hadith by Muslim.

They say that what Muslim reported, is not true as the reports do not contain half of what his teacher Bukhari has written. The Muslim community who disputes this point, does not acknowledge that the reports were written by Imam’s own accord. And that he had no obligation towards his teacher. He developed his own method for verifying the authenticity of the hadith.

This was because Imam reached his own level of intelligence with science, and according to the Muslim scholars, he was more than accomplished to take his own decisions about the hadith. Imam observed many principles about the science of hadith, an area which his mentor Bukhari ignored. Imam also took great care in the exact use of the words used by narrators.

He did not even change minute details in his sahih hadith. Imam avoided a lot of confusion, by not mentioning the names of the Muslim narrators. While his teacher Bukhari mentioned the names of the people, especially from Syria, Imam did not wish to do so in the hadith. Imam also used two methods to write the hadith.

First he narrated the reports to us, and second he informed us about the deeds. He says there is a vast difference in the way of narration. The first mode is used when the Muslim teacher is narrating the hadith, and the Muslim student is listening. The second method describes the student reading the hadith in front of the teacher.

This reflects on Imam Muslim’s utmost care that he took, when he narrated the reports to the Muslim society. The true narrative style only takes place in a way, that the reports had to be heard from two companions and two reporters. This way, all the information is authentic. Imam dedicated his life to the writing of the Muslim hadith.

He had several Muslim students, and he was dedicated to writing and teaching the hadith he had composed. His whole life was dedicated to the Muslim religion. The text is not the basis on which the number of hadith is calculated. The shahi hadith and other hadith are also counted on the transmission. When Imam says that he selected only 4000 hadith, it does not mean that the rest were unreliable.

It means that he chose only 4000 Muslim chains, who were companions and reporters of the deeds. He wanted to be perfect in his recordings as he had dedicated his life to the religion, and wanted the information to be absolutely perfect. A lot of Muslim scholars have disliked the Shia Muslims’ perception of the hadith. They feel they do not have any right to dispute it.
