Muslim Husband And The Rules They have To Follow

Muslim Marriages - Meet your Muslim life partner online!

Not much is spoken about Muslim husbands, though a lot of light is shed on the Muslim women. Muslim men will have to behave in a certain way even before marriage. They of course suddenly cannot change after marriage. Even before marriage, they will have to behave in a modest manner with women. They are not allowed to have romantic relationships, and their Muslim wife is the only woman they can look at and appreciate. The Koran advises all men of the Muslim community to marry if they can afford to. The Muslims believe that this will stop men from looking at other women, and will also preserve their chastity.

A Muslim husband must make sure that his wife is religious, and will do all her household chores well. He must build a relationship with his wife based on love and respect, and he must not base his love for her on wealth or social status. The husband’s main role in the marriage is to provide comforts for the family, in terms of food, clothes and shelter. He must not at any cost ask his wife to earn for the family. He must also provide for his wife if they get divorced, and he has to do so till the end of their lives. The wife may only provide if she wishes to.

The husbands in the Muslim community, must not stop with just providing financial security. They must also make sure that their wives will be given company, and they must also provide marital relations when they need it. They must not harm their wives in any way either. If a Muslim man does not want to divorce his first wife, but does not want to have a family with her either, he is allowed to marry again. He must still provide for his first wife though. If the husband does not visit his wife for an extended period, he may be given a divorce by her.

The husband in a Muslim society must try to avoid divorce as much as possible. He must also refrain from drinking alcohol, and abusing his wife after that. He must also respect his wife’s parents. The husband must also give his wife gifts at the time of marriage. It can be money or property, and he should give her anything she asks for. If at all the Muslim couple does get divorced, the husband cannot take back any of these gifts. He must still continue to provide for her, even after the marriage.

The husband should not try to claim custody of his children if he gets married. The husband must be truthful to his wife throughout the marriage, as Islam frowns upon adultery, and the punishment for it is death. The husband in the Muslim family must give equal attention to all his children. He must not be partial to the boys especially in terms of education. A Muslim man must most definitely live by these rules in Islam.
