Most people are united by friendship, but no religious group other than the Muslims is united so strongly. They have always known to help each other under all circumstances. Most of the time when they address each other, they are known to call each other Muslim brothers, Muslim sisters or Muslim friends.
Most of the time among Muslims, they have been taught from a very young age, to respect each other in the Muslim community. Muslim boys especially must be very respectful towards the girls in the society. There are rules however that need to be followed in the Muslim culture. Muslims may not have friends with members of the opposite sex.
They are supposed to address each other as brother or sister, other than the Muslim girl or boy they are to marry. Friendship with the opposite sex will be looked at as haram. They must always look at each other modestly as well s dress modestly in each other’s presence. Any behavior outside of what the Koran expects of them will be considered haram.
Brotherhood and friendship is highly stressed upon in Islam. All Muslim women must be available for each other as good friends, at all times. The same goes for Muslim men too. They must also be united and must not rise against each other within the Muslim world. No Muslim must hesitate to help his or her friend when they are in need of any kind of help.
Those who do not raise their hands to help their Muslim friends, will be disapproved by Allah. After all, what is humankind for? All Muslims must live in harmony of course. Muslim brothers must always help their sisters when they need financial help, if they have lost their husbands. This is the true meaning of respect and friendship in Islam.
Today, there has been a lot of change in Muslim culture, and some of them have been influenced by the West. However, this is not right in the eyes of Islam. Many websites have advertisements inviting Muslims from all countries to find friends within their society. These advertisements are wrong, and no Muslim must indulge in this activity.
The sad thing is that, Muslim women and men alike sometimes get themselves involved in these online friendship and dating sites. These friends who are Muslims must behave decently in each other’s presence, even if they do gather acquaintances. They however may not indulge in pre-marital romance of any kind.
Friends Muslim may also mean other activities. IT may include several online communities, where a lot of Muslims participate in religious and other discussions. This form of friendship is healthy, as it is clean and approved by the laws of Muslim society. This group of friends will also help in gathering knowledge, and also spreading knowledge, about certain things others may not know.
All Muslims from across the world, must take cue from their holy book to follow patterns of behavior. This is what their God also will approve of.
