Muslim Students And Their Unions

Muslim students can be found in all major universities around the world. They represent the modern future of the Muslim community. Because a large number of them are being exposed today to modern universities, there will be an increasing growth in the economic participation of Muslims across the world in a few years. Islam is now the fastest growing religion in the world, and the second largest next to Christianity. Muslim students everywhere in the world, work towards the betterment of their religion and their community.

There are plenty of Muslims’ students associations, and almost all of the colleges will have at least one on their campus. If not, there are sure to be associations fro Muslim students in the city they live, outside their campus. These associations work for Muslims as well as non-Muslims, and is the perfect place to form new friendships. This can be between Muslims only or between Muslims and students belonging to other religions.

These Muslim students association will work towards helping the Muslims in need of help in educational, religious and spiritual needs. Some or most of the associations will hold meetings, depending on whenever the students are free, and they hold discussions about Islam. They deal with contemporary issues, cultural issues and historical recounts of Islam. Students who are Muslims work towards building a broad network with small study groups which enhance the knowledge of Islam among the students.

These personalized groups will help students to bond, and their pursuit of information will also be intensive. During Muslim festivals, students will promote the cultural characteristics of the religion, by providing exciting gatherings that everyone can be a part of. This way, people’s perspectives about the religion may be broadened. These student associations for Muslims, also participate in several charity events such as helping the homeless, and joining in programs such as Aids awareness.

Some Muslims who are students in certain countries like Britain and the US, may be the subject of racism. This has also increased after the terrorist attacks in both the countries. They are held responsible for being part of the community that is waging war against the Western world. They may not even be part of some social gatherings as they are not allowed to date, consume alcohol and go to parties. This does not seem to deter the grit students who are Muslims worldwide.

They are only increasingly worried about spreading the word of their religion, and also being part of their community activities in the city where they live. Muslims who choose to study in good universities are increasingly looking at continuing their studies for higher education. The percentage of the Muslims in the higher education fields is not surprising. However a large growth may not be possible, considering the number of students who travel from countries whose foreign exchange may be of less value. Muslims who have been raised in the countries where they wish to study will have better privileges, than Muslims who migrate to study from other religions.
