After her marriage, the Muslim bride will come under the protection of her husband. On her wedding day, when the nikah takes place, she may ask her husband for any gift. She is even allowed to ask for property or money. She is then entitled to keep all this for herself, if she may need it for the future. This is in case of some untoward incident if she loses her husband or a divorce. Since most of the time, the Muslim man earns money for his family, the bride may make her future secure by taking these gifts.

A Muslim bride will have a ceremony for the mehendi, where she and the women in the family and also the friends who are girls, will get together to apply mehendi on her hands and feet. This is a very popular function for the Muslim bride, as she beautifies herself for the great day. Most of the time, Muslim brides wear red dresses on their wedding day. They may choose the red dresses with silver or red combinations. This is not compulsory, but it looks very beautiful on the bride. This will be adorned with a lot of gold jewellery.

A bride who is Muslim must always seek the blessings of Allah before her marriage. She must also seek his blessings when she searches for a groom through her family. She will have to be spiritually ready before she takes the plunge into marriage. She must also take marriage vows to keep her husband happy, as well as respect him and whatever he does for her after marriage. Without all these prayers and vows, a marriage will almost be meaningless for all Muslim brides. They must also remember to respect their parents after marriage, and not forget their good deeds.
