A Muslim woman is equal to a Muslim man according to the Koran. Islam claims that they are the other half of humanity. This is true, because if not for women who are Muslim, mankind can never survive. They are the ones who bear children and raise these Muslim children. In return, the children carry on the name of Allah, and this circle goes on for several Muslim generations.
The woman in the Muslim community has to raise these children in a very spiritual way. They must be taught all the rules of Islam right from the age they may understand. The Muslim mother must be available for her husband and children whenever they need her. Not only that, she must respect her husband all through their marriage.
Women in Islam have some restrictions about clothing, and must not ape the west in what they do. They have a traditional dress that covers their heads, and also their full bodies. She must not involve herself in any activities that will displease Allah. A Muslim woman is restricted from speaking to Muslim men very intimately before marriage. She must not seek or have any romantic relationships with men.
This scene is drastically changing around the world. Women from Islamic faith, especially converts indulge themselves in such activities. The Muslim families must however guide their daughters from a young age, and be with them when they need help. They will stray only if their parents do not take care of them well enough.
Women in the Muslim society must respect their husband’s income, and always spend within the limit. She must not harass him for more, or for things that he cannot afford. The primary needs for her should be food, clothing and shelter. She also must not involve herself in buying too many materialistic things, as they are not needed in a Muslim’s life.
While seeking a Muslim husband, women in the Muslim society must always be sure what they are seeking in a Muslim man. They must ask for a good character, as they need to be supported by their husbands. They must also ask Allah to help them find the right partner. At the time of her marriage, the Muslim women are allowed to ask f or gifts from their husbands.
This is to ensure that they do not suffer financially in case of a divorce or other events. All Muslim women must be proud, so that they will not yield to anyone other than her husband. She has to be jealous so that she can safeguard her husband’s property. This has to be looked at in the right perspective.
A woman who is a Muslim has to perform all her duties as a good daughter, wife, mother and companion. She has to be protected right from the time she is born till the time she dies. The Koran expects all Muslim brothers to respect them and safe guard them at all times, because they are not as strong.
