Muslim Sydney Has Been Under Attacks

Muslim Sydney has the largest number of the Muslim population living in Australia. A lot of the Muslim immigrants, chose to be in the cities, as they had better opportunities to survive on. As with all Muslim communities in the world, this community too has an organization. This Muslim organization brings together the Muslim people who live in the city.

Almost seventy percent of the Muslim population lives in Sydney. This organization helps all the Muslim brothers of the city, and also deals with the spread of the Muslim religion. These Muslim people have been living in the city ever since their migration to the country. They have now carved a niche for themselves in the city.

In recent times, there has been a lot of attacks on the Muslim groups in Sydney. They have been blamed for several activities that have happened in the city. The media has been an enemy of the Muslim society in Sydney for over six years in the recent past. Muslim people living in Sydney claim that they do not feel safe anymore.

A bunch of young Muslims who originated from the Middle East, were accused of a gang rape in the city. This triggered negative emotions towards the Muslim society in Sydney. Following the Bali bombings, a lot of Muslim places in the city came under attack. The media enjoyed this controversy, and lapped up as much as they could.

A lot of the Muslim residents feel that they are not even as safe as the Muslims in Melbourne. This may be because that the city Sydney, has the largest number of Muslims in the country. As with most Muslim people facing trouble after 9/11, the Muslims Sydney faced this too. They were targeted with a lot of racist comments, and were under attack from the other residents of the city.

Though the Muslim society in Sydney has faced this problem, most of them continue living there. They have made this city their hometown for several years, and they have no intention of leaving. The Muslims in Sydney have been taking part in various cultural activities, and also in professional activities. They also have Muslim gatherings that help all the Muslim brothers come together.

After all the attacks the Muslims in Sydney have been under, they believe that it is going to continue. The 9/11 attacks triggered a vast sea of anger among the Australian community, and they began attacking Muslims on the street. Muslim women wearing the head dress were easily singled out, because of their obvious appearance of being Muslim.

A lot of religious places and other Muslim places were targeted with arson. Though the Muslims in Sydney have stood with the country, and condemned the attacks, for many Australians this was not enough. They did not believe that the Muslims in Sydney could help heal wounds. The Muslims in this city are fighting to prove that they are innocent. They also want to continue being part of the country’s society.
